The 8th Continent is a fictional digital country and a participatory internet experiment. Ten thousand people will become the founding citizens of a country that does not exist yet.

The country does not begin with a flag, a government, a constitution, a national animal, a currency, a motto, cities, or laws. Those things are created over time by the citizens — through voting, proposals, elections, and collective decisions.

How Citizenship Works

Each citizen purchases one limited digital passport. Founding citizenship is capped at 10,000 — a cap only the citizens themselves could ever vote to change. A public ledger verifies the numbers behind the scenes, but you will never be asked to install a wallet, buy cryptocurrency, or understand a seed phrase. You are becoming a citizen — not minting an NFT.

Every new citizen pays more than the citizens who came before them. This is historical context, not a promise of financial appreciation. The 8th Continent makes no claims about the future value of a citizenship.
